Catholic Abuse Prevention Specialist
We are seeking an Abuse Prevention Specialist to work with Catholic and Episcopal dioceses and parishes, Religious Orders of Men and Women, Catholic schools, camps, Catholic social service organizations, nursing homes, hospitals, in addition to water parks, YMCAs and other organizations nationwide to reduce the risk that a child or vulnerable adult will be sexually abused by an employee, volunteer, or member of the clergy. Position requires 50% national travel.

Responsibilites: Responsibilities include on-site visitations for Religious Orders, interviewing teachers, school counselors, executives, employees, volunteers, and program participants; reviewing policies; touring facilities; observing programs in operation; processing findings, and preparing reports.
  • Assist Abuse Prevention Managers in conducting risk assessments and accreditation visits.
  • Conduct interviews with clergy, employees, volunteers, and program participants.
  • Participate in team meetings to analyze findings and prepare recommendations.
  • Write and edit reports.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews and meetings.
  • Prepare training materials and assist in workshops and seminars.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher in psychology, theology, social work, law, education, or related discipline.
  • In-depth understanding of Catholic doctrine and practice.
  • Strong commitment to protecting the welfare of others.
  • Superior writing skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office and Internet research.
  • Strong communication skills a must.
  • Training or public speaking experience helpful.
  • Proven analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Team player, fast learner, flexible, at ease multi-tasking.

Abuse Prevention Specialist
Due to rapid growth, Praesidium is seeking an Abuse Prevention Specialist to work with social service programs, foster care and programs serving adults with disabilities to reduce the risk of abuse perpetrated by an employee, volunteer or another program participant.

  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office and Internet research.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Team player, fast learner, flexible, at ease multi-tasking.
  • Must be based in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and willing to travel nationwide 50%.
